Here are some images from the 2011 ‘WALK FOR KIDS’ event. Vincent Castro/Toyota of Poway did a sponsorship with T-Shirts for the San Diego Center for Children.

Toyota of Poway is proud to be a Bronze Sponsor of the 2nd Annual Finish Chelsea’s Run 5K Run/Walk which will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in San Diego’s Balboa Park. In addition to the 5K run/walk, our family festival will feature many “Chelsea-esque” activities including a yoga booth, organic produce booth, group photo area, sunflower pot painting station for children and other family-friendly activities. Participants will also be treated to post-race refreshments and entertainment.
Finish Chelsea’s Run has already become a well-loved gathering that grew out of community response to the 2010 passing of stand-out high school scholar and athlete Chelsea King. A handful of local running partners asked some of their friends to meet one Saturday just weeks afterward to finish the run Chelsea started on February 25, 2010 in Rancho Bernardo Community Park. Chelsea’s life was cut short by a heinous act in the midst of her training run on that day in that park. On the morning of March 20, 2010 more than 3,500 community members joined together to run and walk in solidarity with and in honor of Chelsea, who they adopted as one of their own.
The original grass-roots “Finish Chelsea’s Run” was such a moving and healing experience for the community that Kelly and Brent King decided to make it an official annual tradition in San Diego hosted by the Chelsea’s Light Foundation, the organization they founded to make positive change for children. On March 5, 2011, more than 5,400 people participated in the inaugural Finish Chelsea’s Run 5K Run/Walk in Balboa Park.
This annual run/walk is now the primary fundraiser for Chelsea’s Light Foundation’s Sunflower Scholarship Fund, providing scholarships for San Diego County college-bound teens who have embraced Chelsea’s service-over-self ethic.

As St. Michael’s Parish grows, so do the needs of the many parish ministries and facilities. The Fall Festival Raffle is both an important and fun way to support the good works we strive to accomplish for our parish family. This year, the Raffle had several ways to win great prizes in return for your donation. This year’s Grand Prize was a 2011 Toyota Prius provided by Vincent Castro and Toyota of Poway.
“What a wonder Fall Festival – from great weather to fine attendance, we had the best Festival ever! Many thanks to the organizers, workers, and all that attended. This year we had a $70,000 profit. The car raffle brought us $45,000. I’m most grateful to Vincent Castro of Toyota Poway for his assistance and generosity to have the Toyota Prius as our main prize. What a great celebration this year!!!
God’s blessing always,
Msgr. Neal”
